Kenya Prisons Service Honours 41 Officers With Presidential Awards

The Kenya Prisons Service has honoured 41 officers with Presidential Awards and Honours, recognizing their service, dedication and contributions to the country.

The awards were presented during a ceremony presided over by the Commissioner General of Prisons, Patrick Aranduh, CBS, with recipients drawn from different ranks within the Kenya Prisons Service.

The service said the honours, although awarded to individual officers, represent a collective achievement by the institution and its personnel.

It said each award reflects the dedication, teamwork and support of colleagues and institutions that enable officers to carry out their responsibilities.

Among those recognised was Senior Sergeant Douglas Mulando, who received the Head of State Commendation (HSC).

Mulando was also recognised for his achievements as a weightlifting champion, with the Kenya Prisons Service saying his success in the sport has brought pride to both the service and the country.

The service congratulated all 41 officers for what it described as exemplary service, commitment and contributions to Kenya.

The recognition comes as part of Kenya’s system of national honours, which acknowledges individuals who have made notable contributions through public service and other areas of national life.

By recognising officers across different ranks, the Kenya Prisons Service said the awards highlight the contribution of its personnel to the institution and the wider country.
