At least 35 people have been killed in western Sudan after a drone strike targeted a village gathering in Darfur, as the United Nations warns that the conflict is showing…

Sudan has been ranked the world's most neglected displacement crisis despite millions fleeing war, hunger and insecurity, according to a new report from the Norwegian Refugee Council.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, said he was “appalled” by the rising number of drone attacks on civilians during Sudan’s ongoing conflict. The warning follows reports…

"At least three aid workers were killed and others injured in an air strike in Sudan's Kordofan region, said to be related to fighting between paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. It hit a humanitarian aid convoy that was bringing in food and medical supplies, and shows the increasing danger to relief efforts".

As the conflict enters its fourth year, the UNHCR and partners have issued an emergency appeal for $1.6 billion today. They aim to support 5.9 million people forced to flee to neighboring countries like Chad, Egypt, and South Sudan.

UNICEF and the WHO have issued an urgent health alert as a cholera outbreak in South Sudan threatens nearly 450,000 children. The situation is exacerbated by severe flooding and the influx of refugees fleeing the war in neighboring Sudan, putting immense pressure on fragile water and sanitation systems.

A recent drone attack by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces killed at least 24 civilians, including children, as the United Nations warns that growing assaults on aid operations are deepening an already dire humanitarian crisis.

Sudan’s ongoing civil war has pushed its population into one of the world’s most severe hunger crises, with more than 300,000 people at immediate risk of starvation and famine-like conditions spreading to new towns in the war-ravaged Darfur region.
