Bola Tinubu

Bola Ahmed Tinubu (born March 29, 1952) is a Nigerian accountant and politician currently serving as the 16th President of Nigeria. Known as the “Jagaban” and the “Lion of Bourdillon,” he is the former Executive Governor of Lagos State (1999–2007) and was a pivotal figure in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His political career is defined by his transition from a pro-democracy activist with NADECO in the 1990s to becoming the primary architect of modern Nigerian coalition politics.

In 2026, President Tinubu’s administration is characterized by the “Renewed Hope” agenda, focusing on aggressive fiscal reforms and infrastructure development. Following his recent signing of the $68.32$ trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill, his government has declared poverty and insecurity as national emergencies, designating 2026 as the “Year of Families and Social Development.” His presidency has been marked by bold economic shifts, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates, aimed at achieving a $1$ trillion GDP target by 2030.
