The Rwanda National Police has announced a new recruitment and training opportunity targeting young Rwandans, with particular emphasis on graduates in science-related fields and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
In a notice issued in Kigali on October 2, 2026, the police said eligible applicants will be able to register online from October 3 to October 12, 2026.
The recruitment announcement is aimed at candidates seeking to join the Rwanda National Police through its training programmes, with the latest intake placing particular emphasis on technical and science-related skills.
According to the notice, applicants must be Rwandan citizens and aged between 18 and 23 years. They must also have completed their secondary education and meet the other requirements set out by the police.
Applicants are required to have no criminal conviction resulting in a prison sentence of more than six months, demonstrate good character and conduct, and must not have previously been dismissed from government employment. The notice also requires candidates to be in good health and unmarried.
For the specialised science and technology intake, the police list fields including Software Development (SWD), Networking and Internet Technology (NIT), Computer Systems and Architecture (CSA), and Software Programming and Embedded Systems (SPES).
The announcement also states that applicants in the relevant science and technology fields must have completed the required science subjects recognised by Rwanda’s higher education system and achieved the specified academic performance, including a minimum score of 80 percent as stated in the notice.
The Rwanda National Police has directed eligible candidates to use its official E-Recruitment platform to submit their applications and follow the instructions provided during the registration process. The force’s recruitment portal provides online registration, application submission and document-upload functions for candidates.
The police have also provided telephone contacts for applicants seeking further information: 0788 311 526, 0788 311 785 and 0781 860 024.
The new intake comes as Rwanda National Police continues to expand specialised training and policing capabilities, including areas such as cybercrime and other technology-related fields. Its National Police College lists specialised cybercrime courses among its professional training programmes.
Candidates interested in the opportunity have therefore been advised to prepare their required documents and complete their applications within the October 3–12 registration period.
