Tundu Antiphas Lissu is a Tanzanian lawyer, politician, and prominent opposition leader known for his strong criticism of government policies and advocacy for democratic reforms. Born in 1968, Lissu served as a Member of Parliament for Singida East and became one of the leading figures of Tanzania’s opposition party CHADEMA. He gained international attention after surviving an assassination attempt in 2017 and later became a major challenger in Tanzania’s presidential politics, widely recognized for his activism on human rights, constitutional reforms, and political accountability.
